Dean Office Machines, based in Bethesda, Maryland, announced a new desktop office sound machine on Monday.
The company says the device is expected to retail for $500, making it the most expensive desktop sound system on the market.
It also offers a number of customization options, including a Bluetooth microphone that can be plugged into any laptop, desktop or tablet.
Dean is hoping the new device will be able to play back music stored on the company’s server, which is currently based in New York.
In addition to a USB port and Bluetooth microphone, the company also includes an IR receiver and a USB hub.
Dean says the sound is designed to work with Apple devices and is optimized for people with a weak hearing.
“If you’ve got a weak ear, then the Bluetooth will be useless to you,” Dean said.
“The sound is actually very good, and that’s what’s going to make it great.”
Dean also announced that it plans to add more sound-enhancing speakers to the desktop and other products.
The Dean desktop sound machine has an adjustable, stand-mounted cabinet that can accommodate up to five people.
The device features an array of speakers that are mounted on a flat, rectangular stand, with four speakers each at each end.
The sound is built into the cabinet, which also has two volume controls.
